New Holland T7060 tractor … a tractor range that purports to offer the quietest driver accommodation within its 200hp category. Moreover, New Holland’s T7000 range is said to be a full 6dB(A) less vocal than the long-wheelbase TM175 and 190 models it replaces. Andrew Faulkner climbs aboard the 157kW/213hp T7060.

Be in no doubt, New Holland’s T7000 tractor is a hugely significant launch for the Basildon-based brand.

Why? Firstly, these T7000 tractors replace the long-wheelbase TM175/190 models as Basildon representatives in the highly competitive, ‘lightweight’ 200hp sector. But perhaps just as importantly, T7000 is also charged with restoring the factory’s reputation for new-launch reliability. TM followers will recall, after all, the cooling/transmission problems experienced on the early long-wheelbase units back in 2002/03 and, more recently, the first TSAs also suffered from electrical glitches.

Being fair, though, the T7000 would seem to have everything in place for a troublefree start. And that’s not just us falling for a New Holland line. Look at it logically. The T7000 effectively takes much of the outgoing but now cured long-wheelbase TM driveline, and then surrounds it with an assortment of the clever bits and cab off the more modern and similarly sorted TS-A. In many respects, this tractor hits the ground as an adolescent rather than a new-born, with any teething troubles, hopefully, consigned safely to the past.
