USED MACHINERY: The 2003 New Holland TS-A tractors (100-140hp) were replaced by Stage II-/Stage IIIA-compliant T6000 units in 2007. And though initially pretty much the same as its TS-A predecessor, the T6000 went on to incorporate Power Command and Range Command transmission variants derived from the short-wheelbase TM series, as well as a number of other new features. Confused? Well, wait until you have to ponder the Delta, Plus and Elite variations, too

Take a quick look back at our used buying guide to the TS-A’s predecessor tractor models, the TS line (profi used mach. 11/03). Choicewise, there is a quartet of TS units, spanning a nominal 80 to 105hp, three transmission options, various hydraulic packages and a few odd spec detail options. The top SLE tractors aside, that’s pretty much it. Now let’s progress to the featured TS-A.

The TS-A range increases the model offering to five, the four-cylinder TS100A and TS110A developing rated power outputs of 101 and 116hp, while the bigger six-cylinder TS115A, TS125A and TS135A come in at 116, 125 and 136hp respectively. Most notably, there’s a dramatic change on the TS-A motor front: the 5.6-litre ‘four’ of the TS90, TS100 and TS110 and venerable 7.5-litre Powerstar ‘six’ of the TS115 are replaced by 4.5-litre and 6.7-litre power units, all with a turbo plus intercooler for the higher power TS-A models (see specification tables on p40 and p41, which should be used as a guide for all models
