Alongside the 6M, the 6R is being revamped, with the large and extra large frame tractors being the first to be rolled out. Sitting at the top of the range is the 6R 260, which is based, in terms of hardware (engine, gearbox and axles), on the familiar 6R 250. There is no sign (at least not yet) of the rumoured 6R 3XX with a new engine and/or a different wheelbase.

A new addition to the large frame 6R family is the 240 with a 2.80m wheelbase (previously 6R 215), which delivers up to 291hp with twin turbo chargers.

Common to the new models is a redesigned cab that has a sprinkle of 7R styling to it. Although only marginally larger than the previous cab, the sense of space has been vastly improved. Background noise has also been reduced, and the new armrest shares the same design as the recently unveiled 8R.

TLS Pro is the updated front axle suspension, featuring Koni valves fitted directly to the cylinders.

The cylinders on the front axle suspension (TLS-Pro) have been upgraded with adjustable valves sourced from Koni. This makes the front axle suspension more adaptively adjustable, especially when the tractor is unladen. Combined with the revised cab suspension and damping, the ride comfort of the new 6R is impressive.

Thanks to a modified pedal layout and new brake control system, driving comfort is further improved. Reactive steering is now standard on the 6R range.

Certain to be popular, something that is completely new for the 6R as a factory-fit option is the CTIS tyre pressure system complete with an external, hydraulically driven auxiliary compressor with a capacity of 700 l/min.

Also, on the new 6R 260, owners have the option of a 210 l/min pump, and there is now an electrically adjustable PowerBeyond system.

You can expect to see the new models arriving in 2027.
