A rare 1985-built Swed-Trac tractor has sold at auction for €54,600; the second highest for a Swedish-built tractor.
Everyone expected a scramble when the ST 1674, one of the few Swed-Trac tractors built in Arvika, came onto the market via the Klaravik auction house. It is very rare for a Swed-Trac tractor to come up for sale at all, and the low hours (around 2,200) of this 167hp model made it even more unusual.
Hence the high level of interest from both Sweden and abroad, and in the final 24 hours, the leading bid rose by more than €22,600. In the closing stages two bidders went head to head and the final price of €54,600 is the second highest ever for a Swedish-built tractor; the highest being a Volvo BM 814, which sold in 2022 for €63,300.
The Swed-Trac was bought by a Swedish buyer. “It’s great that it’s staying in Sweden, given how few examples are left here,” says Mikael Larsson, the customer that sold the tractor. “It will be nice to follow the tractor’s onward journey from a distance.”
